Privacy Policy

GrammaTech, Inc. ("GrammaTech"), which owns and operates www.grammatech.com (the "Site"), is committed to respecting and protecting your online privacy. This policy, in conjunction with the Terms of Service, is intended to describe what information is collected from you when you visit the Site or communicate with GrammaTech – electronically or by other means, how this information may be used and disclosed, how your information is protected, and how you can control the use and disclosure of your information.

This policy applies only to the site and information received by GrammaTech through your communication with us by other means, including that information received from parties processing information on behalf of GrammaTech. Please note that the Site may contain links to other websites. This policy does not apply to other websites and/or other companies that GrammaTech does not control. Please be sure to read the entire policy before using or submitting information to the Site.


Consent and Bases for Processing

Use of the Site constitutes your consent to the terms of our policy and any applicable laws and regulations. Whenever you submit information to the Site, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information in accordance with this policy for the purposes identified. Express consent is required for GrammaTech to process your personal data. This will be required to access certain functionality and content of the Site or obtain GrammaTech products or services, including support.

GrammaTech will collect and process your personal data under the following conditions and for the purposes specified:

• GrammaTech requires your personal data to facilitate agreements with you provide access to GrammaTech products and services, or other legitimate business interests

• Compliance with legal obligations

Information Collected Through The Site

In general, you can visit the Site without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal identifying information about yourself. However, when you use certain Site functions, such as when you register with the Site, request content from the Site, use the Site contact form, or request an evaluation copy of GrammaTech software, we may ask you to provide information, including, but not necessarily limited to: (i) contact information, such as a name, email address, postal address, phone number, and company or organization name; (ii) username and password for the Site; (iii) search queries conducted on the site; (iv) and correspondence you send to us. Similar information may be required for purchasing GrammaTech software and services, as well as other data typically needed to process these types of transactions with GrammaTech.

When you visit or interact with the Site, certain information may be collected automatically, including the domains from which people visit, IP address, browser type, and operating system. GrammaTech also uses Google Analytics and Google Adwords, which collect information on visitors to the Site. When we measure visitor activity on GrammaTech web sites, we do so in ways that keep the information anonymous. This information, sometimes known as "clickstream data," is anonymous and not intended to contain personal identifying information.


Use of Collected Information and Sharing

GrammaTech values your privacy, and shares information about visitors only under certain circumstances. GrammaTech may use or share with its partners this data to analyze trends and statistics for our marketing and research purposes, improve the content of our Site, process transactions, to help us provide better customer service and for the purposes specified in this policy. We may use the information collected to send you e-mail communications, promotions, software updates, and license renewal notifications. When we collect personal data from you in connection with a transaction we may extract some information about that transaction in an anonymous format and combine it with other anonymous information such as clickstream data. This anonymous information is used and analyzed only at an aggregate level to help us understand trends and patterns. None of this information is reviewed at an individual level. If you do not want your transaction details used in this manner, you can either disable your cookies or opt-out at the order or request page.

We collect the anonymous information we mentioned in the previous paragraphs through the use of various technologies, including one called "cookies". A cookie is an element of data that a Web site can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your system. Some GrammaTech pages use cookies, sent by GrammaTech or its third party vendors, or other technologies to better serve you when you return to the Site. When they no longer need your data to fulfill this service, they will dispose of the details in line with GrammaTech’s procedures. If you have provided sensitive personal to GrammaTech, we will obtain your consent prior to sharing it with a third party, unless we are legally required to do otherwise. If we intend to transfer the personal data to a third country or international organization, information about how we ensure this is done securely.

GrammaTech may share your information as necessary to comply with a court order, legal requirement, or to cooperate with government and law enforcement officials.


Information Protection and Accuracy

GrammaTech is committed to complying with all laws and regulations as they apply to our business relationship with you, including the UE General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR),  California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)  and other applicable US privacy laws.We intend to protect the quality and integrity of your personally identifiable information. GrammaTech has taken reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures, such as using encryption for transmission of credit card numbers, to help us keep your information secure. Please note that GrammaTech will make every reasonable effort to protect your information; however, no transmission of data over the internet is 100% safe.

If applicable by regulation or statue, while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you may have the following rights:

• To request a copy of the personal data that we may hold about you.

• To correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.

• In certain circumstances, you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.

• Where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing.

• To have the data we hold about you transferred to another organization.

• To object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.

• To object to automated processing, including profiling.

• To avail yourself of review processes provided for by regulation or law.

We will make a sincere effort to respond in a timely manner to your requests to. If you believe there are inaccuracies in your personal information retained by GrammaTech or wish to update such information, please contact us (privacy@grammatech.com) to identify the inaccuracies and include details of the correction/update requested. If you have provided personal identifying information, you have the right to tell us not to use such information in the ways described herein and to require that such information be deleted from our database. To have your personal identifying information removed from our database completely, please contact us and provide your full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address so that we may verify your identity and include you in the opt-out process.

Laws of certain jurisdictions provide additional rights, which are not expressly recited herein, to individuals that provide personal identifying information. If you wish to avail yourself of such rights, please contact us. In your email, please include the Site name, your name, street address, city, state, and zip code, as well as the inquiry. Please note that we will not accept requests via means other than email, unless expressly required to do so by the applicable law and/or regulation.



GrammaTech will process and store personal data for only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for retaining such data. GrammaTech is required to retain information in accordance with the law, such as information needed for tax and regulatory purposes. How long certain kinds of personal data should be kept may also be governed by specific business-sector requirements and agreed practices. Personal data may be held in addition to these periods depending on individual business needs.


Children Under 13

This Site, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") is not designed or structured to attract children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information from our database as quickly as possible. If you believe that we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.


Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices and service offering. If GrammaTech changes this policy, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that your attention is brought thereto by posting a notification on the Site for a reasonable period of time following such changes or send notifications to via the contact information you have provided.
