GrammaTech Co-Founder, Thomas W. Reps, Ranked Second by Libra Academic Search

ITHACA, NY–GrammaTech, a leading provider of source-code analysis tools, today announced that co-founder Thomas W. Reps has been ranked second out of thousands of researchers in software engineering and programming languages by Libra Academic Search, a computer science bibliography search engine developed by Microsoft Research.

According to Wikipedia, Libra Academic Search is a public search engine for academic papers and literatures, which is developed by Microsoft Research Asia. Libra considers Papers, Authors, Conferences, and Journals as different types of objects in the research literature. The relevance score of an object is computed by considering all the collected information about its attributes, and the importance score is calculated by considering its relationships with other objects. It has over 1.8 million papers and 1.3 million authors mainly in computer science and related subjects as of May 2007.

Reps is well known for his work on static analysis of software (both source code and binary executables), and his foundational innovations are fundamental to GrammaTech’s products. His awards include the ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award, an NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award, a Packard Fellowship, a Humboldt Research Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
