Tim Teitelbaum, GrammaTech co-founder and a faculty member of the Cornell University Computer Science Department, will speak on static analysis at SD Best Practices 2008. Tim will clarify the strengths and limitations of static-analysis technology, covering the types of defects that these tools can catch and the types they cannot. Popular methods for quantifying the precision of a tool's analysis will be introduced, and sources of ambiguity for such metrics will be explored. Real-world data on adopting static analysis, published by various government agencies, will be presented.
SD Best Practices 2008 will be held on October 27-30, 2008, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA. The current (as of 9/4/2008) schedule has Tim Teitelbaum speaking on Wednesday, October 29, at 10:30am-12:00pm. For more information, visit http://sdbestpractices.com/index.php
