GrammaTech Awarded Five New Research Contracts

GrammaTech, Inc. announced today that in the first quarter of 2007 it was awarded five new research contracts totaling $500K. These awards are all SBIR Phase-I projects, with a total Phase-II potential of $3.6M a year from now. The contracts were awarded by the US Air Force, US Army, and by NASA. These awards build on more than $3.6M in new research funding GrammaTech received last year.

GrammaTech’s research focuses on static program analysis of source code and binary executables, and leverages its earlier groundbreaking work in the field. In particular, the company's CodeSurfer/CodeSonar program-analysis platform, which is the result of many years of research, is being used as infrastructure for constructing advanced applications rapidly. These applications include detecting vulnerabilities in both source code and binaries, hardening programs to thwart attackers, hardening programs with anti-tamper techniques, finding bugs automatically, refactoring code automatically, and extracting software architecture information.
