Setting the Structural Selection

Although there are mouse-based commands to set the structural selection (the underlining) without also setting the textual selection (the highlighting), recall that dragging, multi-clicking, and extending commands that set the textual selection also set the structural selection. Accordingly, a very common and convenient idiom makes use of those textual-selection setting commands for the purpose of setting the structural selection. One has only to ignore the textual selection.
