SelectionsAda-ASSURED provides a textual interface to the underlying structure of an object being edited. As such, it provides an interface much like a conventional text editor augmented with additional language-sensitive functionality. Although language-sensitive cues and commands offer considerable added guidance and power, a structural editing style is not strictly imposed and full text-editing functionality is available.
Within each object pane, there are several possible selections:
The focus of text-editing operations is the insertion cursor (denoted by the caret on X and the I-beam on NT) and the textual selection (denoted by highlighting).
The focus of language-sensitive structural-editing operations is the structural selection (denoted by underlining). The syntactic category, or context, of the current structural selection is indicated in the lower-rightmost corner of the status pane, labelled by the word Context.
