Respect Elision

Respect Elision controls the prettyprinting of objects when they are saved in text format.

Each phrase within an object may be displayed in either its principal or its alternate presentation mode. Typically, the alternate mode is used for elision; i.e., the phrase is displayed as ``...'' and the text of the phrase is hidden. If Respect Elision is No, the setting of presentation modes in the object are ignored when it is written to a file (as if the object were saved after invoking the command elision-off). If Respect Elision is Yes, the setting of presentation modes in the object are respected and determines the text saved. In this case, it should be noted that the actual text of elided phrases will be lost; i.e., the text saved will be ``...''.
