Objects of syntactic category TEXT consists of 0 or more lines of arbitrary text separated by newlines. In addition, they have several distinct interface properties:
A TEXT buffer has no internal structure. The structural selection (i.e., the entire TEXT fragment) is not underscored. All structural operations are disabled with the exception of parse-selection, which parses the entire fragment. Automatic parsing is disabled.
