MouseThe mouse is used for pointing at regions of the workstation screen. The screen pointer (an arrow, I-beam, hour-glass, or other icon) is associated with the mouse: moving the mouse on the table-top moves the pointer on the screen.
The names Select, Transfer, Adjust, and Menu refer to mouse buttons. The exact buttons to which these names refer depends on the particular bindings in use:
For Motif, Select is Btn1, Transfer is Btn2, Adjust is Shift Btn1, and Menu is Btn3.
For OpenWindows, Select is Btn1, Transfer is not applicable, Adjust is Btn2, and Menu is Btn3.
For Microsoft®, Select is Left Button, Transfer is not applicable, Adjust is not applicable, and Menu is Right Button
The following terminology is used. Clicking a button means depressing a button and releasing it again without delay. Multi-clicking a button means clicking it several times in rapid succession. Pressing a button means holding the button down. Dragging means moving the mouse while a button is pressed.
